In May 2021 actress Philine Conrad founded the artists' initiative "Art is Life! - We stand up!" and was launched due to the months-long, uncritical silence of cultural institutions and cultural workers in Germany. They connect courageous artists and advocate for culture to be especially important. The motto: We keep making art for humans!

Meanwhile, their commitment has expanded to include the ever-increasing
narrowing spaces for debate and expression in art Keep open regarding moral-ideological censorship.
